The four playoff teams in Region 8-4A have been established, and while Poplarville has secured the No. 1 seed and Greene County is locked into the fourth spot, the second and third seeds will be determined tonight.
The Lady Hornets (6-1) host Pass Christian (4-3) while Bay High (4-3) is at home against Moss Point, which is seeking its first region win of the season. Greene County has wrapped up its region schedule and stands at 4-4. Bay High controls its own destiny. A win will give Bay the No. 2 seed and a home playoff match. The Lady Pirates need an upset of Poplarville and a Bay loss to gain the No. 2 seed. Pass Christian knocked off Poplarville earlier this season.
Greene County will travel to Lanier, the winner in Region 6-4A, where McComb, Richland and Raymond are still battling for the second through fourth spots.
Classes 1A, 3A, 5A, 6A and 7A have all decided playoff spots and look to wrap up their regular schedules with tune-ups.

In 7A, Ocean Springs will take on Oxford and Northwest Rankin next week before hosting Petal to open the playoffs. Gulfport will also open the playoffs at home but will close out the season with matches against East Central and West Harrison.
Biloxi is at Hancock tonight and will travel to Lamar County before opening the playoffs against Oak Grove. D’Iberville faces the toughest test to open the playoffs. The match will be at 7A favorite Brandon. The Lady Warriors host George County tonight.

In 6A, the Lady Rebels take on former region rivals East Central and Vancleave next week before traveling to West Jones to play the Lady Mustangs in the first round.
The only first-round matchup between two “Southern Six” opponents will be West Harrison traveling to Carriere to face the Pearl River Central Lady Blue Devils, the No. 2 seed in Region 3-6A. The Lady Canes will play St. Patrick tonight.
Top-seeded Hancock will more than likely face Hattiesburg to open the playoffs while Long Beach, hosting St. Martin tonight, will open at home against Jim Hill.
In 5A, East Central looks to run the table in region play as it hosts Stone tonight. The Lady Hornets will welcome Natchez or Provine to Hurley to open the playoffs.
Vancleave takes on Our Lady Academy tonight and will be at home to open the playoffs. Florence will be the first-round opponent for the Lady Bulldogs.
Gautier, after splitting its region series with Vancleave, slid to the No. 3 spot because of a tiebreaker and will open at Brookhaven. The Lady Gators host Resurrection tonight.
The Crescents are 35-3 overall heading into their match against Vancleave. After sweeping region play, OLA is set to open the 3A playoffs at home against Magee. St. Patrick hopes to get another shot at OLA in the playoffs as it opens at home against Seminary or McLaurin.
In 1A, Resurrection swept region play and will be at home for its playoff opener against Velma Jackson.
The playoffs in 1A, 2A, 3A and 4A will start on Oct. 7 while 5A, 6A and 7A will begin on Oct. 10.
