Lucedale — Deuce Knight threw for 333 yards and accounted for five touchdowns as George County amassed over 550 total yards in beating West Harrison 54-19 Friday night to move to remain unbeaten at 3-0 in Region 4-6A play as well as move to 7-2 overall.
Jacobe Street ran for 93 yards and a pair of touchdowns and Montrell Dortch was one of Knight’s favorite targets as he had four receptions for 194 yards and two scores including a 94-yard scoring catch late in the fourth quarter.
Devin Knight had an interception and fumble recovery to lead the GCHS defense.
West Harrison, which dropped to 4-4 overall and remains winless in region play at 0-3, 4-4(0-3) was led by Trey Harris who rushed for 131 yards on 24 carries and scored two touchdowns. Tyson Johnson added an 80-yard kickoff return for a touchdown for the Hurricanes
The win for the Rebels sets up a big region showdown at home next week against Picayune, while West Harrison hosts Pascagoula.

On the same night that the Tigers honored their first-ever state championship team of 1983 Moss Point also picked up its first Region 8-4A win of the season as well.
The home-standing Tigers used five rushing touchdowns and 230 yards on the ground from tailback Taborious Charles to move to just 2-7 overall but more importantly, finish 1-3 in league play and manuver themselves into a possible playoff position.
The Tigers have completed their regular season, and will have an open date next week while the Wildcats still have slight postseason hopes left but need a win over region champion Poplarville next week to stay alive.

Tide tailback Darrell Smith scored all five of Picayune’s touchdowns in the first half to stake his squad to the commanding lead. Niquis Ratcliff added the final Picayune score.
The Maroon Tide stands 6-2 overall and 3-0 in league play while LBHS drops to 2-7 overall and 0-3 in the region race.
