D’Iberville jumped back into the Region 4-7A playoff race and in doing so kept St. Martin winless Friday night as the visiting Warriors whipped the Yellow Jackets 45-7.
The win is the Warrior’s first in league play, as they move to 1-3 in the region race and 3-6 overall. D’Iberville hosts Biloxi next week with postseason implications on the line.
Andre Crosby rushed for right at 100 yards and three touchdowns in the win for DHS, while Kevin Rogers also added a 6-yard scoring run in the second quarter and he also returned the opening kickoff for 80 yards and another touchdown. Jordan Walley also scored a 58-yard touchdown run.
Crosby’s scoring runs came on a 65-yard dash to the end zone with just over five minutes to play in the first quarter as well as from 3 yards and 23-yards out less than two minutes apart mid-way through the second stanza.
Jackson Callagari kicked a field goal and was good on all six extra-point attempts as well.
The Warriors were way ahead at 35-0 mid-way through the third frame before St. Martin scored its only points of the night on a Logan Jeffreys to Noreel White 30-yard touchdown toss. St. Martin drops to 0-9 overall and 0-4 in leagueplay this year and the Yellow Jackets have now lost 16 straight games including 11 consecutive losses in region play.

The Panthers picked up a key win in Region 4-6A play thanks to a record-setting night by quarterback Silas Corder Friday night.
Corder, a junior, broke former PHS All-American Shane Matthews’ career passing touchdown mark with five scoring strikes and he also completed 22 passes for 343 yards as the Panthers blew past the Hurricanes. He hit both Darrius Carter and Brian Barnes twice each with touchdown tosses while Chris Campbell also pulled in a scoring toss in the historic performance.
Corder’s performance also tied a Panther record for five touchdown passes in a game, now shared with Shun Carmichael and Adam Hogan from 2000. The Matthews record stood since 1987, the year he guided PHS to the state championship.
The win for the Panthers and a loss by George County to powerful Picayune Friday night sets up a big showdown next week at War Memorial Stadium between PHS and GCHS with second place and an opening round home playoff game in the upcoming Class 6A South State playoffs on the line.
St. Stanislaus 49, West Marion 7
The visiting Rock-A-Chaws captured the Region 8-3A title with an impressive win over the Trojans Friday night in the regular season finale for both teams.
The win completed a 5-0 league mark for SSC in head coach Tim Lala’s first season as well as the Rock’s first league crown in seven seasons, since 2016.
Rock quarterback Ian Gael Gonzalez Rioz completed 15 passes for 231 yards and four touchdowns in the win, while Isaiah Haynes caught five of those passes for 112 yards and a score. Ethan Galloway also hauled in six passes for 67 yards and two touchdowns.
St. Stanislaus will host Crystal Springs next week to open the Class 3A South State playoffs.

Hancock 53, Long Beach 14
The home-standing Hawks secured the fourth and final seed for playoff purposes in Region 4-6A and snapped a two-game losing streak in the process with a big win over the Bearcats Friday night.
The Hawks will travel in the first round of the state playoffs, but will first hit the road to region champ Picayune to close out the season next week. After starting the season a perfect 7-0, Hancock has dropped two of its last three games to sit at 8-2 entering the final week of the regular season.
West Jones 56, Pearl River Central 0
Pearl River Central ends the season winless at 0-9 under first-year head coach Jacob Webbafter being throttled by the visiting Mustangs. The Blue Devils head into next year on a 13-game losing streak overall and have also lost 18 of their last 19 games over the past two seasons.
