Pearl River’s Peyton Hoffmayer and Hollis Porter named Wildcats of the Week

POPLARVILLE, Miss. — After an incredible week on the diamond, Pearl River softball and baseball standouts Peyton Hoffmayer (Ocean Springs) and Hollis Porter (Hurley; East Central) have been named Wildcats of the Week.

PEYTON HOFFMAYER
Hoffmayer was important in a 2-2 week for the Wildcats. The freshman hit .400 in 15 at-bats with two doubles and five runs batted in. She walked twice and scored two runs.

Hoffmayer has registered 39 at-bats this season and has a .385 batting average. She has racked up 16 RBIs, five doubles, two home runs, and three walks. Additionally, she has swiped two bases.

HOLLIS PORTER
It was another big week in the batter’s box for Porter. The Wildcats played in five games during the week, and the first baseman wrapped up the week with a .450 batting average, .560 on-base percentage, and 1.000 slugging percentage. He racked up nine hits, two doubles, three home runs and walked three times. He drove in 10 runs on the week.

Porter has been special for the Wildcats so far this season. After 19 games, he leads PRCC in batting average (.406), slugging percentage (.971), runs batted in (23), home runs (9) and doubles (8). His nine home runs are tied for first nationally.
