Bulldogs throw out 1st MACCC pitch Saturday

PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast has finished it non-conference baseball slate, and MACCC play begins here Saturday.

The Bulldogs entertain Mississippi Delta at Ken “Curly” Farris Field in a doubleheader starting at 2 p.m. Buy your tickets ahead of time to save money. It costs $7 for adults or $5 for youth online, or $10 and $7 at the gate. Tickets are available at http://mgcccbulldogs.com/tickets, and the game will be streamed at https://mgcccbulldogs.com/watch.

Last Time Out

  • MGCCC split its last two MACCC tripleheader games Wednesday, beating host Copiah-Lincoln 7-6 at Wesson and losing 10-7 to Northwest Mississippi.
  • Delta lost its two MACCC tripleheader games Wednesday at Poplarville, falling 14-0 to Pearl River and 3-2 to Southwest Mississippi.

Previous Meeting

On March 11, 2024, Gulf Coast beat Delta 8-2 in the opening game before falling 16-8 in the second.

  • Gulf Coast leads the MACCC in being hit by pitches (50) and is second in walks (129). The Bulldogs are third in doubles (44).
  • Brandon Cain (So., Mobile, Ala./Baker) is fifth in the conference with two triples.
  • Marc Stephens (So., Orange Beach, Ala./Gulf Shores) leads the MACCC in on-base percentage (.585) and is second in hitting (.487) and hits (37). His three triples are third in the conference.
  • Kaden Irving (Fr., Gautier/Gautier) is eighth in the league with seven doubles.
  • Dom Jackson (Fr., Gulf Breeze, Fla./Gulf Breeze) is third in the MACCC with seven home runs and walks (17) and eighth in RBI (23).
  • Charlie Keller (So., Mobile, Ala./Mobile Christian) is sixth in the league by begin hit with eight pitches in only 13 games.
  • Adrian Byrd (So., Wiggins/Stone) is second with four wins and fourth with a 1.64 ERA. His 11.45 strikeouts per nine innings is ninth.

  • Wednesday, March 13: vs. Copiah-Lincoln, Perkinston, 3 p.m. doubleheader
  • Saturday, March 16: at Itawamba, Fulton, 2 p.m. doubleheader
  • Tuesday, March 19: at Southwest Mississippi, 3 p.m. doubleheader
