PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast Meet The Teams takes place Aug. 20, with the expanded format returning to Dantzler Arena. SuperTalk Mississippi will again be broadcasting from the event.

It will start at 5:30 p.m. with the Bulldogs’ football, men’s and women’s soccer, and men’s and women’s basketball teams being introduced. The Cheerleaders, Band of Gold and Perkettes will also perform.

There will be a T-shirt giveaway, plus pizza and Coca-Cola products for students who come out to meet their fellow students who compete in Gulf Coast uniforms. The Perkinston Campus Bookstore will have merchandise available at the arena, plus the Bookstore will be open until 7 p.m. to purchase the full range of Bulldogs gear.

The SportsTalk Mississippi broadcast will take place starting at 3 p.m. The three-hour show featuring Richard Cross, Brian Hadad and Michael Borkey will be heard statewide.

Coach Jack Wright‘s football team extended the school record for consecutive MACCC South titles to five last year. The Bulldogs look to extend that success starting Aug. 29 when they kickoff at East Mississippi. The first home game is Sept. 12 when Jones visits A.L. May Memorial Stadium.

Coach Chris Handy‘s men’s soccer team won the MACCC title for the second time in three seasons last year. They get the season started at home Aug. 22 with a non-conference game against Jones.

Coach Ryan Joiner‘s first season in charge of the women’s soccer team saw the Bulldogs reach the 10-win plateau and the postseason last year. They’ll take the field for the first game Aug. 23 at Fulton. The first game at Bary Thrash Field will be Aug. 28 when East Central visits.

Coach Hope Adams swept MACCC and Region 23 women’s basketball championships last year, reaching the NJCAA Tournament for the first time since 1977. The Bulldogs tip off defense of those titles Nov. 8 when Enterprise State visits Dantzler Arena.

Coach Owen Miller led the men’s basketball squad to within one game of reaching the NJCAA Tournament in his first year in charge last season. The Bulldogs open No. 1 with a game at Coastal Alabama-South. They’ll play their first game at Perk Nov. 6 when the Mobile University JV visits.

Season passes and single-game tickets are on sale now for football and soccer at http://mgcccbulldogs.com/tickets.
