Region championships will be up for grabs in the Southern Six this week in head-to-head competition.

Gulfport will be at Ocean Springs with the 4-7A title on the line, while George County plays at Picayune for the 4-6A championship and Greene County at Poplarville will decide the 8-4A crown.

Championship game in Region 4-7A
The battle Friday night between the Admirals and Greyhounds will decide the region championship. Both teams will get a first-round home playoff game.

The final two playoff berths are still up for grabs among D’Iberville, Biloxi and Harrison Central. All three are 1-2 in the region. The Red Rebels will host the Indians on Friday and the Warriors will host last-place St. Martin.

PRC’s tough task in Region 3-6A
Pearl River Central is in the playoff chase in 3-6A, but the Blue Devils have a tough task Friday as they host region co-leader West Jones in Carriere.

The Mustangs are tied for the region lead with undefeated Hattiesburg. The Tigers travel to Terry on Friday.

Title contest in Region 4-6A
A wild offensive explosion could be on tap in Picayune when the Maroon Tide host George County with the winner claiming the 4-6A title.

Picayune has scored 118 points the last two weeks while the Rebels have rolled up 99 points.

The remaining two playoff spots can be clinched if Pascagoula beats West Harrison and Hancock knocks off Long Beach.

Gautier can clinch Region 4-5A
A Gautier win over Stone on Friday would give the Gators their first region crown in 16 years. The Tomcats can clinch a playoff berth with an upset win. Vancleave can also get in the playoffs with a win over county rival East Central.

Championship game in Region 8-4A
The 8-4A championship will be decided in Poplarville with the Hornets hosting Greene County in the final game of the regular season.

The Hornets have won four straight after suffering their only defeat a month ago, which was a three-point loss to West Jones. The Wildcats are on a six-game win streak with their only loss to George County. Both teams will get first-round playoff games.

The No. 3 and No. 4 seeds will be decided Thursday when Pass Christian hosts Bay High.

Playoff-bound SSC hosts Region 8-3A champion
West Marion has wrapped up the region title, but the Trojans will head to Bay St. Louis to take on St. Stanislaus in the regular-season finale for both teams. The Rock-A-Chaws have secured a playoff berth, but seeding is still undecided.

RCS hosts Region 8-1A champion
Resurrection Catholic will wrap up their season Thursday when the Eagles host region champion Lumberton. The rest of 8-1A has been decided with seeding to be determined after Thursday night’s games.
