After a 53-42 win at home over rival Bay High on Wednesday, the Pass Christian Pirates (15-8 overall, 4-0 in region) won their sixth consecutive game in January and remained undefeated in the region with a 40-25 defensive victory against Moss Point on Friday.
The Pirates have not been defeated yet in 2025.
In a first-half standoff, the score was 12-11 in favor of the Pirates. A 28-point second half for Pass Christian, along with only 14 points for the Tigers (7-17, 2-4), gave the Pirates the easy win.
This was their second victory over Moss Point this season. They won 59-34 on Jan. 7.
Pass Christian’s victories in their January streak have come thanks to the Pirates’ offensive performances. They are averaging 60 points per game across this stretch.
As for Moss Point, the Tigers have traveled a rocky road recently, losing four of their last five contests to put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season.
In Wednesday’s 53-42 victory over Bay High (10-12, 1-4), Landon Hall’s 30-point performance led Pass Christian. The junior guard knocked down four 3-point baskets and Bay High had no answer despite being within striking distance.
Pass Christian forward Kyran Laneaux chipped in 11 points, mainly off rebounds, and was the only other double-digit scorer.
The Pirates will host Canton on Monday at 2:30 p.m. Pass Christian is scheduled to be on the road against Bay High on Tuesday, but a winter storm watch in South Mississippi may be a concern. This information will be updated.
