Brett Merrill was born in Pascagoula on the Mississippi Gulf Coast where the summers are hot, the food is fried, and football is a way of life. The son of two lifelong educators, Brett received a bachelor’s degree in Health, Physical Education, and Recreation from William Carey University. In 2013 he moved back to Pascagoula where he began teaching Elementary PE and coaching football and golf at Pascagoula High school. His wife Molly is also an educator, and they have three beautiful kids. Brett’s passion for public education and sports continues to be his driving motivation. His goal is to give every student with whom he comes in contact the opportunity to succeed.
