Mississippi Gulf Coast got behind early and could never catch up Sunday, losing 11-5 at Enterprise State in Alabama.
The Boll Weevils (2-7) scored four times in the first inning. Gulf Coast (8-2) was outhit 12-8.
Marc Stephens (So., Orange Beach, Ala./Gulf Shores) had two hits, including a triple, and drove in two runs. Landon Holliman (Fr., Hattiesburg/Sumrall) had a double among his two hits.
Dom Jackson (Fr., Gulf Breeze, Fla./Gulf Breeze) tripled, and Jacob Palazzo (Fr., Gulfport/Gulfport) doubled.
Gulf Coast is back at Perkinston on Tuesday hosting an MACCC tripleheader. The Bulldogs will play Southwest Mississippi at 1 p.m. and East Mississippi at 6. The other two teams will play the middle game at Ken “Curly” Farris Field.
