Mississippi Gulf Coast lost twice in a doubleheader at No. 7 Jones on Wednesday, losing 17-7 in eight innings and 6-4 at Ellisville.
Kaden Irving (Fr., Gautier/Gautier) went 3-for-3 with a homer in the nightcap. The Bulldogs led 3-1 after four innings but couldn’t hold on.
Jayden Mark (So., Petal/Petal) doubled.
In the first game, Brandon Cain (So., Mobile, Ala./Baker) went 2-for-3 with a triple. Mark doubled in that game, too, finishing with two hits.
Gulf Coast (22-10, 8-4 MACCC) will play Friday at East Mississippi. First pitch in the Scooba doubleheader is set for 2 p.m.
