Slow starts cost Mississippi Gulf Coast twice Saturday as the Bulldogs wrapped up play in the JUCO Classic softball tournament in Vicksburg.
Gulf Coast gave up eight goals in the first inning of an 11-1 loss to No. 9 Kirkwood and four in a 5-0 loss to No. 4 Parkland.
Kamryn LaFosse (So., Lake Charles, La./Sam Houston) had a solo home run in the first game.
Abi Williams (So., Columbia/Columbia Academy) had a double in the second game.
The Bulldogs return to Perkinston on Wednesday to host Shelton State. The doubleheader at Ross-Smith Field starts at 2 p.m. Buy your tickets ahead of time to save money.
