Vicente Faria and Gonzalo Cotter advanced to the prestigious ITA Cup next week in Rome, Ga., after winning at the regional event last week.
Faria, a sophomore from Lisbon, Portugal, and Cotter, a sophomore from Valencia, Spain, teamed up to win the top men’s doubles draw at the ITA Southern Regional in Ellisville. The duo defeated teammates Moritz Stroebel (Fr., Metzingen, Germany/Theodor-Heuss-Schule Reutlingen) and Ryland Buford (Fr., Gulfport/Gulfport) 6-1, 6-4 in the finals, as the Bulldogs dominated that draw.

Faria also advanced to the finals of the men’s singles top draw. Cotter defeated Stroebel in the quarterfinals before being eliminated in the semis.
In the men’s B singles draw, Nick Dulaney (Fr., Long Beach/Long Beach) advanced to the semifinals. Jeremiah Layton (So., Brookhaven/Brookhaven) and Easton van Norden (Fr., Long Beach/Long Beach) made it to the quarters in B doubles.

Meredith Matthews (Fr., Wiggins/Stone) got knocked out of the C singles semifinals.
