Landon Holliman drove in four runs, and Blake King pitched his second straight complete game to earn a split for Mississippi Gulf Coast at Scooba on Friday.
The Bulldogs won the second game against East Mississippi 11-4 after dropping the first 6-4.
The Bulldogs trailed 4-0 headed to the fourth inning. Holliman (Fr., Hattiesburg/Sumrall) singled in two runs, and Dawson Hall (Fr., Gulfport/Gulfport) doubled in two more to tie it.
Holliman had another two-run single in the fifth, and Brandon Cain (So., Mobile, Ala./Baker) drove in two more with a hit. Marc Stephens (So., Orange Beach, Ala./Gulf Shores), who had already extended his hit streak to 26 games, singled in another.
He got plunked with the bases loaded in the seventh, and Dom Jackson (Fr., Gulf Breeze, Fla./Gulf Breeze) added a sacrifice fly.
King (So., Petal/Petal) scattered seven hits to improve to 4-0.
In the first game, Gulf Coast scored four times in the third to take a 4-1 lead. Keilon Parnell (Fr., Pascagoula/Pascagoula) had an RBI groundout, and Dom Jackson (Fr., Gulf Breeze, Fla./Gulf Breeze) had an RBI double. Kaden Irving (Fr., Gautier/Gautier) drove in another with a single.
But the Bulldogs couldn’t make it stand up. Jackson was the only Gulf Coast player with two hits.
