POPLARVILLE, Miss. — An incredible week against outstanding competition has earned No. 15 Pearl River men’s soccer’s Tiago Honorio Jr. (São Paulo, Brazil) the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference Player of the Week award.
Honorio Jr.’s selection makes it back-to-back weeks for Pearl River as Zach Howard (Ocean Springs) was the conference’s selection in week one.
The 6-foot-4 center forward got his week started with a fantastic showing on the road against No. 16 Jones College, netting a pair of goals in a 6-5 slugfest victory against the Bobcats.
He followed the performance with an equally impressive showing against No. 3 Northeast, assisting on all three of Pearl River’s goals in the 4-3 loss.
