POPLARVILLE, Miss. — A day after taking home the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference Player of the Week award, sophomore Tiago Honorio Jr. (São Paulo, Brazil) has been named the National Junior College Athletic Association’s Player of the Week.
Honorio Jr. is PRCC’s first NJCAA Player of the Week of the 2024-25 academic year.
Honorio Jr. earns the award following a fantastic week against then-No. 16 Jones College and No. 3 Northeast (Neb.). He started the week by bagging a pair of goals in a back-and-forth slugfest against the Bobcats, helping lead PRCC to a 6-5 victory.
PRCC then took on the Blackhawks. In the hard-fought 4-3 loss, Honorio Jr. assisted on each of Pearl River’s goals, setting up his teammates perfectly each time.
