The No. 12 Mississippi Gulf Coast women’s tennis team blew past Southwest Mississippi 9-0 at Summit on Tuesday.
Gulf Coast is now 8-4 overall, 6-1 MACCC.
The Bulldogs swept the two doubles matches played without using any of their international players. Kendall Burn (So., Wiggins/Stone) and Niyah Strickland (So., Pachuta/Quitman) won 8-1 at No. 1, and Mikenzy Dubrow (Fr., Biloxi/Biloxi) and Lauren Sullivan (Fr., Laurel/Laurel Christian) didn’t drop a game at No. 2.
Valeria Callejo (Madrid, Spain/I.E.S. Ortega y Gasset) won her No. 1 singles match without dropping a game, as did Sullivan at No. 2 and Dallas Tanner (Fr., Hattiesburg/Oak Grove) at No. 4.
Gulf Coast will host No. 14 Meridian on Thursday at the MGCCC Tennis Complex. First serves are set for 2 p.m.
