POPLARVILLE, Miss. — For a second consecutive week, No. 2 Pearl River softball’s Lainee Bailey (Walker, La.) has been named the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference Pitcher of the Week.
The Southeastern Louisiana transfer was electric in her two appearances on the week. PRCC began the week on the road at Southwest, and Bailey threw a complete game, allowing just one run on four hits and two walks. She struck out 10 batters in the contest.
The Wildcats returned home later in the week to take on Mississippi Delta, and Bailey’s dominance continued. She threw her second complete game of the week, allowing one unearned run on four hits and three walks. She struck out seven batters.
Bailey has been nothing short of dominant this season for the Wildcats. She has thrown 90 innings so far this season and holds an unreal 1.40 ERA. Her WHIP is a stellar 0.87. She has struck out 124 batters and walked just 22. She heads into this weekend with a 12-1 record.
