POPLARVILLE, Miss. — For a third consecutive week, the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference Pitcher of the Week award is headed to Poplarville. After a dominant showing in the circle, Natalie Herrington (Petal) earned the selection.
The award is Herrington’s third of the season.
Herrington earns the award following a dominant week for the Wildcats. She threw 14 innings and allowed just one earned run on 10 hits and two walks. She struck out 25 batters on the week. In an extra-inning victory over Itawamba, she threw eight innings and set a new career-high with 14 strikeouts.
The future Southern Miss Golden Eagle has thrown 100 2/3 innings in her first 16 appearances of the year. She has a 12-2 record, one save and an unbelievable 121 strikeouts. Her 121 strikeouts are fourth in the NJCAA.
