POPLARVILLE, Miss. — An offensive explosion for No. 5 Pearl River’s Lainee Bailey (Walker, La.), the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference Player of the Week award.
The selection is Bailey’s second Player of the Week award of the year to go along with two Pitcher of the Week awards.
The Southeastern Louisiana transfer finished her incredible week with a .462 batting average, a .529 on-base percentage and a 1.462 slugging percentage. She collected nine RBIs, four homers and one double. She also drew a trio of walks.
Additionally, she threw nine innings in the circle, striking out 15 batters.
Bailey has put up quite the season at the plate. Through 39 games, she is hitting .444 with 49 RBIs, 36 runs, 20 walks, 16 doubles, 13 homers and five triples. She has stolen two bases. As a pitcher, her ERA sits at 1.87 through 119 2/3 innings pitched. She has struck out a stellar 168 batters against just 33 walks.
