PERKINSTON — Two Mississippi Gulf Coast men’s basketball players have been named to the All-MACCC team announced Tuesday.
Duran Parish, a tough freshman guard from Biloxi, won a spot on the First Team, and running mate Jabbari Barry, a sharpshooting freshman guard from Lake Charles, La., earned selection to the Second Team.
The duo helped Gulf Coast finish third in the MACCC and propelled a run to the NJCAA Region 23 championship game, where the Bulldogs were edged out on a trip to Hutchinson by two points.
Parish averaged 15.6 points and 4.5 rebounds per game. He finished second in the MACCC with 2.3 steals per game, and he dished out 4.4 assists, fifth-best in the league.
Barry averaged 14.3 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game. He finished second in the conference by shooting 45.6 percent from the 3-point line, and he was an 81-percent free throw shooter.
