PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast’s Duran Parish showed his toughness during a strong freshman season, and it earned him a spot on the All-NJCAA Region 23 First Team.
The guard from Biloxi helped Gulf Coast finish third in the MACCC and led the team to the Region 23 championship game, earning All-Region 23 Tournament Team honors. The Bulldogs were edged out on a trip to Hutchinson by two points.
In his first collegiate season, Parish averaged 15.6 points and 4.5 rebounds. He was second in the MACCC with 2.3 steals per game and his 4.4 assists ranked fifth.
Parish is eligible for NJCAA All-American honors, which will be announced later this week.
