PERKINSTON — Speedy Keilon Parnell wreaked havoc for Mississippi Gulf Coast last week, and he’s been named MACCC Player of the Week.
The freshman outfielder from Pascagoula batted .583 with two doubles in a 2-2 week for Gulf Coast.
He had two hits and an RBI in a 6-5 loss in 11 innings at No. 3 Pearl River and went 3-for-4 in a 13-7 win over No. 4 Lansing. He doubled in a loss to Jones and a win over Illinois Central.
The voting was conducted by the conference’s sports information directors. Parnell is the first Bulldog to win the award this year, and he will be eligible for NJCAA weekly honors. Those winners will be announced Wednesday.
