POPLARVILLE, Miss. — Pearl River women’s basketball rising sophomore Roge’Ne’ Hillard (Hazlehurst; Copiah Academy) will participate in the 2024 NCAA College Basketball Academy in Rock Hills, S.C. from July 27-28.
“Roge’Ne’ is very deserving of this opportunity,” PRCC head coach Scotty Fletcher said. “She had established herself as one of the top post players in the country before her injury last season. She comes from an exceptional family and will represent our program, institution and our league the right way at all times. I am excited to watch her compete at this event among the nation’s best.”
The NCAA College Basketball Academy will host 54 of the nation’s top junior college basketball players. The three-day event will give participants a college basketball experience. In addition to games, participants will also take part in skill development and basketball training exercises. Off the court, players and their parents will have life skills courses covering NCAA eligibility, scholarships, NIL and general life skills.
Hillard averaged 4.2 points, 4.2 rebounds and one block in 13 games for the Wildcats during the 2023-2024 season.
