Nichelson was especially proud of his pitching staff.
“Our arms were really good this week and gave us a chance to win,” said Nichelson.

The game remained tied until the 12th inning, when Picayune loaded the bags on a walk, error, and intentional walk. King then stepped up and lined a hit to left to drive in the winning run.
Landon Watts earned the win in relief, allowing only one hit and no runs over the final four innings. Tanner Busby went eight strong innings, allowing three runs on five hits and striking out eight.

Nichelson feels good about his team’s chances.
“Our guys are focused right now and the intent has been there all week,” said Nichelson. “I’m looking for that to continue and I think we are in a good spot.”
