To say it was over before it began would be an understatement.
The Pass Christian Pirates soundly defeated the winless Moss Point Tigers 41-0 at Dantzler Stadium in Moss Point on Friday, virtually guaranteeing the Pirates a playoff berth for the fourth consecutive year.
After dropping three consecutive games, Pass Christian (4-4 overall, 1-2 in region) won its first region contest of the year.

The Pirates accounted for 373 yards in total offense and 2023 All-Region 8-4A running back Jacquez Alexander-Dedeaux finished with a combined 148 yards (130 rushing, 18 receiving), 21 touches and three touchdowns. The Tigers (0-8, 0-3) barely crossed midfield.
“It feels good to be back on the winning side,” said Pass Christian coach Jeff Stockstill, whose 2023 team advanced to the state Class 4A quarterfinals. “We had a good week of practice and cleaned up some mistakes from the past couple of weeks.  Offensively, we were efficient, and defensively, we made plays when we needed to.

After a brief 7-0 lead for the Pirates, Pass Christian opened a huge advantage in the second quarter. Scoring three consecutive touchdowns, Pass Christian took a 28-0 score to halftime and never looked back.
Quarterback Paris Trivillion led the Pirates, throwing for 209 yards on 14-of-17 attempts and two touchdowns. Additionally, Trivillion ran the ball four times for 23 yards and a score.

The two main target receivers, Amarie “Moe” James and Matthew Daniely, combined for 127 yards on seven receptions and two touchdowns. Kaiden Mooney kicked five extra points.
While the Pirates have a bye next week, the Tigers play their potentially final game of the year against the Greene County Wildcats, who clobbered Bay High 54-19 on Friday.
Pass Christian faces Bay High on Halloween night in a heated region rivalry that has a playoff seeding on the line.
