The interleague cross-over match-ups in Class 6A in the “Southern Six” will wrap up Friday night weather permitting.
Earlier in the week, Pascagoula beat Harrison Central, Ocean Springs edged Biloxi and Gulfport beat St. Martin all in Jackson County on Tuesday night while on Monday home-standing D’Iberville knocked of visiting Hancock.
The venue sites are a little more spread out Friday night, as Ocean Springs heads to Hancock, Gulfport hosts D’Iberville and Pascagoula visits Biloxi both in Harrison County while in western Jackson County St. Martin hosts Harrison Central.

While the squads in Region 8-6A and Region 7-6A warm up for their respective league races beginning next week and Region 7-5A play has already begun, there has been some non-league action in Region 8-5A this week as well.
On Tuesday, home-standing Gautier nipped Resurrection 4-3 in The Swamp. The Gators tallied two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to earn the walk-off win.
Frederick Nicholson led the Gators at the plate with two singles in the seven-hit Gautier attack. Ole Miss signee Kaden Irving, one of a trio of Gator pitchers, picked up the win as he and Nicholson and Enrique Flores all combined on a one-hitter.
For Resurrection, Carter McCammon had the only Eagles’ hit and he also drove in a run while Nicholas Watts had an RBI as well.
Gautier now stands 10-9 overall and the Gators travel to Bay High Saturday afternoon while Resurrection is at St. Martin on Saturday afternoon as well.

Bay High is coming off an 11-1 loss to Vancleave Tuesday night in five innings that completed a home-and-home series this week between the Bulldogs and Tigers. Vancleave also won 6-3 on Tuesday.
Vancleave got a big night at the plate from Aidan Tapp, as he collected a pair of hits and drove in a game-high four runs. Layton Elder also had a pair of hits and he drove in a run, while Hunter Parker had two hits as well in the winning effort. Both Tanner Wilis and Robert Tinson drove in a pair of runs apiece for the Bulldogs in the winning effort.
Levi Tapp got the win in the five-inning contest, going the distance and allowing just one hit and the single run.
Vancleave is set to host St. Stanislaus Saturday afternoon.
In other Region 8-5A action this week, George County beat Baker High of Mobile, Ala., 4-1.
Taite Davis had a run-scoring triple for the Rebels, and Alex Wade added a two-run single. Ben Davis and Brody Howell each registered two hits apiece for GCHS in the win, and Howell picked up the pitching win as well.
The Rebels now stand 12-4 overall on the year, and they head to St. Patrick for a Saturday afternoon game.
Defending Class 5A state champion East Central, coming off a loss earlier in the week to Pearl River Central, is set to travel to Mobile to face Mary G. Montgomery on the road Friday night.
