Both the Biloxi girls and boys basketball teams enjoyed successful seasons before each saw their respective season come to an end in the past few days with losses in the Class 6A state playoffs.
The Biloxi baseball squad, however, is picking up with the same type of success as their counterparts on the hardwood relished at one point.
The diamond Indians are out to a perfect 6-0 start in the young baseball campaign, after a 7-5 win over visiting Resurrection Tuesday night.
The Indians will face perhaps the sternest test of the season to date Thursday night, however, as they travel to Carriere for a big match-up with home-standing Pearl River Central.
In the win over RCS, the Indians unleashed an 11-hit attack that included five doubles including a pair by Logan Fontenelle. Robbie Hokamp also recorded two hits, including a double and he drove in a pair of runs. Ian Henry and Bryson Pisarich also collected doubles and had an RBI apiece, while Ian Henry and Judson Byars each drove in a run in the win for the Indians.

Fontenelle picked up the win, while Max Askew was tagged with the loss when the Indians put up a four spot in the bottom of the third frame to take a lead they would never relinquish.
Askew and Walker Frederic picked up a pair of hits apiece for the Eagles, including a double for both. RCS got RBI’s from Cole Tingle and Luke Schnoor as well as Jesus San Miguel and Justin San Miguel.
Late last week, on Saturday, Biloxi remained unbeaten moving to 5-0 and in the process handing East Central it’s second straight loss in a 5-3 decision in Biloxi.
Bryson Pisarich collected two of Biloxi’s five hits in the game, including a solo home run to lead the Indians at the plate. Logan Fontenelle also drove in a run in the BHS win. Will Myle picked up the win and Dickerson took the loss.
The Hornets actually out-hit the Indians 9-4, as Haydn Porter collected two hits and Nate Trochessett had a single and drove in two runs.
Both the Indians and Hornets beat Stone on Saturday on the home field of Biloxi, as BHS beat the Tomcats 6-4 while ECHS bounced back from the loss to Biloxi to earn a 4-2 win.
The Indians got two hits including a home run and three RBIs from Judson Byars in the win, while Pisarich, Fontenelle and Robbie Hokamp all recorded doubles. Cameron Holt picked up the win on the hill. It marked the second win for the Indians over the Tomcats in less than two weeks.
Biloxi’s opponent Thursday night, handed East Central it’s third loss in the past four games Tuesday night winning a 6-2 decision in Hurley.
The visiting Blue Devils jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in the first frame and then broke the game open by hanging a four spot on the Hornets in the third inning for a 6-0 lead.
Caleb Dyess and Chris Hart had two hits apiece to pace PRC, with one of Hart’s hits a double and Dyess drove in a run as well. Lead-off hitter Jacob Johnson had a two-run single for the Blue Devils, and B.J. Bello also drove in a run in the winning effort.
Dyess tossed a complete game five-hitter to pick up the win, allowing five hits and striking out 11. Southern Miss signee T. J. Dunsford took the loss.
Despite his struggles on the hill, Dunsford delivered at the plate for ECHS as he collected a pair of hits including a double. Brayson Owenby and Matthew Combs each had a double as well for the Hornets.

In other action on Tuesday night in Jackson Cunty, Pascagoula traveled to Moss Point and pulled out a 10-1 win over their arch-rival.
Angel Solivan picked up the win for the Panthers, striking out seven, while Griffin Wells and Tank Bishop both had a pair of hits in the win. Cameron Kelly picked up an RBI for MPHS, while multi-sport standout Kaleb Ralston was tagged with the loss despite striking out six in the losing effort.
The Panthers are back in action Thursday in Purvis as part of the Adidas Rex Deep South Tournament facing Parklane Academy at 4:00 pm as well as the host Tornadoes at 6:00.

Also, Picayune hosts Gautier Thursday night in a game moved up a day from Friday due to the Picayune Maroon Tide basketball team playing for the Class 5A state championship Friday night in Jackson.
Gautier is on a two-game win streak and has won five of its past six games after a 14-1 win over Moss point on Friday and an 11-0 win over Sacred Heart on Tuesday. Against Moss Point, versatile senior standout Kaden Irving smacked a solo home run and also added a single while Cortorian Keeton added a pair of run-scoring singles to the winning attack. Matthew Tanner picked up the win.
Gregory “Brayden” Johnson earned the win on the hill for the Gators against Sacred Heart, as he tossed a complete game six-inning no-hitter striking out 13. Tanner blasted a three-run home run as well as a double in the win, while Irving collected a triple and a single.
