The St. Martin Lady Jackets used a strong second half to break open a close game and defeated the Pass Christian Lady Pirates 66-47 Tuesday night in St. Martin.
St. Martin held a slim 25-21 lead at the halftime break thanks to six points each from Kaleah Lowery, including four free throws, and Kylena Ward. Ariana Crimm paced all scorers in the first half with nine points for the Lady Pirates and Kamiyah Pruitt notched seven.
The Lady Yellow Jackets got hot in the third quarter, outscoring the Lady Pirates 20-14 to stretch their lead to 10 points, 45-35, as Teairra Lee scored 10 of her 14 points, with four of the points coming from the charity stripe.
Lowery and Laidimeni Lafayette were top point producers in the third quarter with eight and six points, respectively. Pruitt paced Pass with eight points.
In the fourth quarter, St. Martin forged further ahead as they connected on seven free throws, four by Lee, and increased their lead by nine points.
Leading St. Martin in scoring were Lee and Lowery with 14 points apiece and Ward with 10.
Pass Christian was paced by Pruitt with a game-high 19 points. Ariana Crimm tossed in 13 and Calelyn Obillo notched nine.
