PERKINSTON — Nine members of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College’s Cheer Team are headed to four-year schools to continue their collegiate careers on the field and in the classroom. It’s the most in program history.
MGCCC Cheer Team Coach Brittney Holley recently held a signing ceremony for the nine cheerleaders, who are headed to NCAA Division I programs:
- Alexa Buras, University of Tennessee
- Gabriel Beech, University of Tennessee
- Kyle Shippey, University of Tennessee
- Alec Pierce, Western Kentucky University
- Morgan Blackwell, University of Southern Mississippi
- Jonathon Huerta, University of Southern Mississippi
- Kendale Johnson, University of Southern Mississippi
- Kynleigh Anderson, University of Southern Mississippi
- Journee DeShazo, University of Southern Mississippi
“Congratulations to all our athletes advancing to the next level,” Holley said. “We are incredibly proud of them and thrilled for this new chapter in their lives. Their hard work and dedication are truly commendable.”
