Six prep volleyball squads in the “Southern Six” all advanced to second-round play after winning matches on Saturday.
Class 1A-4A opened the postseason on Saturday and will continue with second-round play on Tuesday. The other three classifications, Class 5A-7A, all begin the playoffs on Tuesday.
In Class 1A, defending South State champion Resurrection swept McAdams 3-0 to begin the defense of its crown. In other action, in Class 3A both OLA and St. Patrick picked up sweeps, while in Class 4A Poplarville, Pass Christian and Bay High all advanced with wins to open the playoffs as well.
