PRCC baseball Region 23 Tournament

Pearl River baseball will host the Region 23 Tournament from May 13-17.

POPLARVILLE, Miss. — Tickets are on sale for the Region 23 baseball tournament, hosted at Pearl River Community College’s Dub Herring Park.

The No. 2 Wildcats earned the right to host after clinching the program’s sixth MACCC Championship.

The tournament is set for May 13-17 at Dub Herring Park.

Tickets are $12 each day. Tournament passes are $43. Tickets can be purchased at PRCCAthletics.com/tickets. Passes are on sale until 9 a.m. May 13.

PRCC’s box office is CARD ONLY. Cash will not be accepted at the gate.

The schedule is tentatively set for Noon, 3:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday; noon and 4 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday; and 4 p.m. Friday, if necessary.

WHO’S IN?
Pearl River is the No. 1 seed in this year’s tournament. LSU-Eunice is the 3-seed. Eight other teams are playing in best-of-three series this weekend to qualify for the remaining four spots: Northeast vs. East Central, East Mississippi vs. Jones, Hinds vs. Northwest and Copiah-Lincoln vs. Meridian.

TOP CATS
The Wildcats have had another remarkable season, earning a 46-8 overall record with a 25-3 mark in the MACCC. The team has excelled in all three phases of the game, hitting .343 (14th in NJCAA) as a team with a staff ERA of just 2.72 (2). The team’s .971 fielding percentage is fourth among teams with at least 1,556 total chances. Additionally, PRCC is third nationally with 79 home runs and 496 runs scored. The pitching staff’s 514 strikeouts are tops in the NJCAA.
