LIVINGSTON, Ala. — Seven Pearl River rodeo team members made it to the short-go round at the West Alabama rodeo as the men’s team took home eighth place with 130 points and the women’s team tied for second with 260 points.

WOMEN’S RESULTS
The Wildcats had two athletes make the short-go round in breakaway roping. Molli Rae Kinchen (Tickfaw, La.; Ponchatoula) finished fifth in the event. She had a time of 2.6 seconds in the first run and followed it with a four-second round two.

Kate Eiland (Kentwood, La.) earned second place after a 2.3 in her opening round and a 3.1 in her short-go run. For the event, she earned 140 points.

Eiland and Erin McLaughlin (Bunnell, Fla.) each made it to the short go in goat tying. McLaughlin was in third place after her opening round ride of 9.7 seconds, but a 14-second time in the short go pushed her back to seventh. Eiland tallied 10 seconds in the first round and 10.4 seconds in the second round for an eighth-place finish.

MEN’S RESULTS
Jake White (Albany, La.; Holden School) advanced to the championship round in steer wrestling following an 11.6-second first-round performance. Unfortunately, he was unable to register a time in the second round.

Three athletes competed in the championship round in team roping. The duo of Trevor DeLee (Saint Francisville, La.) and White qualified for it by registering a time of 11.8 in their opening ride but failed to register a time in round two.

Trent Davis (Poplarville) teamed up with Tennesee-Martin’s Kolby Allen Krieger. They came out of the gate on fire, catching in just 6.6 seconds in round one. They had a bit of a setback in the championship round, tallying a 12.5 second round to finish in second place.
