PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast will tee of the 2024-25 golf season right where it finished in the spring after winning the NJCAA Division II Men’s Golf Championship.

The Bulldogs are first in the Bushnell Golfweek NJCAA Division II Coaches Preseason Poll. Gulf Coast received three of four first-place votes and are two points in front of Kirkwood.

South Mountain is third, and Roane State is fourth.

Meridian (seventh) and East Central (tied-ninth) are MACCC rivals in the rankings. Jones is among outside the top 10 receiving votes.

Gulf Coast will open the season Sept. 15-17 in the Folds of Honor Challenge, which is played in Allendale, Mich. That’s the only tournament the Bulldogs didn’t win, sweeping through the last 12 events of the year.

They will play in the NJCAA Preview in Plymouth, Ind., on Sept. 30-Oct. 1 before starting MACCC play in the Jim Redgate Invitational. Meridian’s event will be played Oct. 7-8.
