PERKINSTON — Vicente Faria and Jorja Roberson have been named Bulldogs of the Week for April 1-7.
Faria, a freshman from Lisbon, Portugal, won all three of his matches for No. 13 Gulf Coast last week. He won at No. 1 doubles with Gonzalo Cotter in matches against Northwest Mississippi and No. 18 Coastal Alabama-South. He also won No. 1 singles against the Coyotes in straight sets.
Roberson, a sophomore outfielder from Branyan, batted .462 with two homers, a triple and two doubles during a 3-1 week for Gulf Coast. She went 3-for-4 with two doubles in a 6-5 win at No. 12 East Central. She tripled in an 8-0 win over Coahoma, then closed out the doubleheader with two home runs in a 15-0 win. For the week, Roberson slugged 1.231.

Kylie Burnette, a sophomore from Picayune, picked up two wins for Gulf Coast last week. She took down No. 12 East Central at Decatur, pitching 5.2 innings allowing just one earned run. She struck out four, allowing five hits. Burnette also beat Coahoma, allowing one hit in two innings.
Kaden Irving, a freshman infielder from Gautier, batted .545 in four games for Gulf Coast. He had a six-hit day in a sweep at Coahoma, including a double.
Brayden Scott, a freshman from Pascagoula, pitched four innings of one-run relief against Coahoma to pick up a win. He struck out four with one walk.
Danique Vermue, a freshman from ‘s-Heerenhoek, Netherlands, won all four of his matches last week for No. 12 Gulf Coast. She teamed with Angela Moreno to beat Northwest Mississippi and Coastal Alabama-South at No. 1 doubles and won both her No. 1 singles matches in straight sets.
