PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast running back Trey Hall is building a reputation as Mr. First Down. His latest set of eye-popping numbers has earned him MACCC Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday.
The sophomore running back from Vicksburg had another sensation night for the No. 4 Bulldogs in a 41-14 win over archrival Pearl River. He ran 12 times for 171 yards and three scores, including touchdown scampers of 60 and 70 yards.
In the last four games, he’s rushed 59 times for 597 yards, a 10.1 yard-per-carry clip.
Hall joins teammate Landon Varnes as a winner of conference honors this season. The award is voted on by the conference’s sports information directors.
Hall is now eligible for NJCAA weekly honors, which will be announced Wednesday.
