POPLARVILLE, Miss. — No. 6 Pearl River softball’s Natalie Herrington (Petal) got her 2024 campaign started the right way last week, dominating the competition to earn the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference Pitcher of the Week.
Herrington’s award makes it a clean sweep for the Wildcats in weekly softball awards as Lainee Bailey (Walker, La.) earned MACCC Player of the Week.
The future Southern Miss Golden Eagle earns the honor after an utterly impressive week in the circle. Herrington only appeared in two games for the Wildcats but made the most of it, picking up a pair of complete game shutouts. In total, she struck out a stellar 17 batters without giving up a single walk. She also only allowed four hits in the appearances.
