MARTIN, Tenn. — The Pearl River rodeo team had a pair of solid finishes at the Tennesee-Martin rodeo. The men’s team grabbed eighth place with 130 points, and the women’s team took home fourth place with 125.

The Wildcat men were led by Bryson Crawford (LaBelle, Fla.), who grabbed third place in calf roping. The freshman was sitting in ninth place after a first-round time of 12.5 seconds but turned in a time of 10.1 seconds in the second round to finish third in average. He was awarded 90 points.

Jake White (Albany, La.; Holden School) took fifth in steer wrestling. He grabbed a time of 14.7 seconds in the first round to make the short-go but couldn’t register a time. He was given 40 points for his first-round appearance.

The women’s team was once again led by Kate Eiland (Kentwood, La.). The freshman had a 6.2-second run in the opening round of goat tying and followed it with an 8.2-second short-go round. She finished third in average and was awarded 100 points.

Erin McLaughlin (Bunnell, Fla.; Matanzas) needed just seven seconds in the first round of goat tying to finish tied for third and earn a spot in the short-go. In the championship round, she turned in a time of 10.8 seconds to finish tied for sixth in average.

Molli Rae Kinchen (Tickfaw, La.; Ponchatoula) and Juliana Jennings (Mendenhall; Simpson County Academy) took home eighth place in team roping. The duo was sitting in fifth after the opening round with a time of 12.2 seconds but failed to register a time in the short-go. They were awarded 20 points.
