POPLARVILLE, Miss. — A day after being named the MACCC’s Special Teams Player of the Week, Pearl River football’s Morgan Craft (Picayune) has taken home the same award from the National Junior College Athletic Association.

Craft is the first PRCC football player to be named an NJCAA Player of the Week since October 20, 2021, when Justin Jefferson won the defensive award.

The kicker wins the award after being a significant reason that Pearl River erased a 13-0 deficit at East Central. The freshman had three field goal attempts and a pair of extra-point attempts and was perfect on all five kicks. After field goals from 34 and 38 yards, Craft had one more opportunity with two seconds remaining in the game. He was sent out for a 32-yard game-winning attempt and sent it perfectly between the posts to earn the 23-20 victory.

Through four games, Craft is 4-for-6 on his field goals and 8-for-8 extra point attempts. His 38-yarder against East Central was his career-long.
