The annual Battle at the Beach took Sunday off after a three-day start last week, and the prestigious event came back in full force on Monday.
Games were contested in eight separate venues across the “Southern Six”
Almost 30 teams from four different states joined the fray. Games were played at Biloxi High, Gulfport, Ocean Springs, D’Iberville, Pascagoula, Resurrection, St. Martin and Vancleave on Monday.
In Pascagoula Monday night, the home-standing Panthers won their second straight game in the BATB mashing Oak Hill Academy from West Point, Ms., 10-0.
Panther senior standout Brayden Scott wielded the big stick for Pascagoula in the win with a monster outing at the plate as went three-for-three and recorded two double while driving in a game-high six runs as well. Landon Burnett also registered a pair of doubles and Griffin Wells chipped in a pair of hits to the winning effort.
On the mound, Braxton Jarrell worked four solid shutout stanzas striking out nine in the process and walking none.

The Panthers of veteran head coach Richie Tillman began play in the Battle at the Bay on Saturday, also at home at Ingalls Field, with another 10-spot on the scoreboard as well as Pascagoula popped Pelahatchie 10-4.
Scott also came up big in that win at the plate, as he drove in two runs with another pair of doubles in the winning effort. Adrian Rosado also collected two RBIs with a pair of singles as well, as Pascagoula bounced back from a heartbreaking 3-2 walk-off loss to Gulfport two days prior on the road.
Angel Solivan picked up the pitching win for PHS against Pelahatchie.
The Panther stand 5-6 overall on the season, and Pascagoula isn’t quite done with action in the BATB as the Panthers remain at home Tuesday night to host Faith Academy of Mobile, Ala.

Elsewhere Monday night in BATB action, Starkville Academy beat George County 5-4 at St. Martin High and then the Vols turned around and shut out the home-standing Yellow Jackets 1-0.
Madison St. Joseph Catholic shut out home-standing Ocean Springs 2-0 as Andrew Bonds threw a complete game no-hitter for the visiting Bruins and St. Joe improved to 8-5 on the season.
Also, Biloxi remained unbeaten on the year moving to 12-0 overall with a 3-1 win over visiting Southaven at the Biloxi High Sports Complex.
Northwest Rankin shutout home-standing D’Iberville 8-0 in 5 innings behind a solid shutout pitching performance from Dawson Muenzenmay, while Cade Breland tossed a complete game shutout to lead the Jackson Academy Raiders to a 6-0 victory over Resurrection.
Visiting Hartfield Academy beat Vancleave 5-4, while home-standing Gulfport whitewashed Madison-Ridgeland Academy 6-0.
Tuesday’s action features Jackson Prep facing George County in St. Martin, while Biloxi puts its unbeaten mark on the line by hosting MRA. Also, Gulfport hosts Tupelo, D’Iberville hosts Parklane Academy and Ocean Springs hosts Clinton.
