PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast placed two players on the National Fastpitch Coaches Association NJCAA Division II All-Region team, led by Jorja Roberson.
The sophomore outfielder was named to the All-South First Team, with teammate Jett Harrell making the Second Team.
Roberson, who is from Branyan, led the Bulldogs with 12 home runs and 50 RBI, sixth-best in the conference. She batted .386 and finished in the top 10 in the MACCC in runs (57), hits (66), doubles (17), triples (3), walks (25), on-base percentage (.475) and slugging (.731). She has signed to continue her collegiate career with NCAA Division I North Alabama.
Harrell, a sophomore two-way player from Clarksdale, earned her spot on the team as an outfielder. She batted .361 with seven homers. Her 48 RBI were tied for eighth-most in the MACCC. In the circle, she went 12-7 with a 3.79 ERA. Harrell will continue her college playing career at NCAA Division I UTSA.
