PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast’s Jorja Roberson and Natalie Shaw have been named to the All-NJCAA Region 23 softball team.
The voting was conducted by coaches in the region.
Roberson, a sophomore outfielder from Branyan, led the Bulldogs with 12 home runs and 50 RBI, sixth-best in the conference. She batted .386 and also finished in the top 10 in the MACCC in runs (57), hits (66), doubles (17), triples (3), walks (25), on-base percentage (.475) and slugging (.731). Roberson earned All-MACCC Honorable Mention honors as a freshman.
Shaw, a sophomore catcher/first baseman from Olive Branch, finished ninth in the conference with a .389 average. She had 14 doubles and 30 RBI, compiling six three-hit games including a pair in a split against then-No. 5 Pearl River.
They are now eligible for selection as NJCAA All-Americans.
