ELLISVILLE — Lauren Sullivan lost only twice in conference play this season, earning her a spot on the All-MACCC Women’s Tennis Team.
The freshman from Laurel was named part of the eight-player team Thursday on the first day of the NJCAA Region 23 Women’s Tennis Championship in Ellisville.
Sullivan had identical 7-1 records in singles and doubles. She played most of her matches at No. 5 singles and No. 3 doubles.
“Against quality of the players in the conference, it’s a big deal,” Gulf Coast coach Sam Blackburn. “She deserves it. She’s been so steady and solid from Day 1. She’s earned it. She stays after practice hitting serves on her own, getting extra work in whenever she can. That’s what good players do.”
Gulf Coast also picked up their MACCC runner-up trophy. The Bulldogs finished 8-1 in conference play.
