Volleyball teams across the “Southern Six” head into the final weeks of the regular season with playoff races starting to take shape from 7A
down to 1A.
The playoffs are set to start in one month and teams are working their way through rematches with division opponents meeting for the second
time.
In 7A, Ocean Springs (5-0) continues to set the pace, sweeping Harrison Central and St. Martin. The Lady Greyhounds host D’Iberville
tonight. The Lady Warriors are coming off a four-set loss to Biloxi and stand at 2-3 in region play.
Biloxi, which hosts Harrison Central tonight, is 3-2 in region play and the No. 3 seed, a game ahead of D’Iberville. The Lady Red Rebels look to stay on the heels of D’Iberville for the No. 4 seed.
Gulfport is in second place as the Lady Admirals swept Biloxi and St. Martin to improve to 4-1. They travel to St. Martin tonight with the Lady Yellow Jackets looking for their first region victory.

The Region 4-6A standings are similar to 7A with Hancock 5-0 leading Long Beach, 4-1 and in the second spot. The two teams meet at Hancock tonight, coming off wins over West Harrison and Picayune last week. The Lady Hurricanes hold down the No. 3 spot with a 3-2 record, one game better than George County at 2-3. These teams clash in Lucedale tonight with West Harrison winning an earlier match at home. Pascagoula looks to pick up its first division win, hosting Picayune tonight as the Maroon Tide look to stay close to George County and West Harrison while competing for the No. 4 playoff spot.
In 3-6A, Pearl River Central sits in the middle of the pack at 1-2, sweeping Hattiesburg and falling in three sets at West Jones. The Lady Blue Devils travel to Forest Hill tonight.

East Central has taken control of Region 4-5A after its four-set win over Vancleave last week. East Central travels to Gautier (1-2) tonight. The Lady Gators picked up a huge sweep over Wayne County last week and are in a battle with Stone (2-2) for the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds. Vancleave swept Stone on Tuesday night to solidify its hold on the No.

In 4-4A, Bay High (2-0) travels to Poplarville (2-0) with first place on the line tonight. Bay has picked up region wins over Pass Christian
and Greene County while Poplarville also defeated the Lady Wildcats. Pass Christian (2-1) still figures to challenge for one of the top seeds while Greene County appears to be ready to lock up a playoff spot if it can hold off Moss Point, still seeking its first region win.

OLA and St. Patrick remain the class of Region 4-3A. The Lady Crescents swept through Tylertown and West Marion to remain undefeated in region play at 4-0.
St. Patrick picked up a sweep of Perry Central to improve to 3-1 and looks to stay on the Lady Crescents’ heels as they travel to West Marion tonight.
In 1A, Resurrection continues to roll toward a region title as it swept Salem and Lumberton to improve to 4-0.
