PERKINSTON — The hottest team in the country visits Ken “Curly” Farris Field on Tuesday when archrival Pearl River stops in for an MACCC baseball doubleheader.

The No. 4 Wildcats have won 25 straight games and are unbeaten in MACCC play. First pitch is set for 3 p.m.

  • MGCCC: 25-13/11-7 MACCC, T-5th place in conference
  • Pearl River: 38-5/18-0 MACCC, 1st place in conference

Last Time Out

  • MGCCC swept Coahoma on Saturday in Clarksdale, winning 16-7 and 4-3.
  • PRCC swept East Mississippi on Saturday in Poplarville, winning 6-4 and 8-4.

On Feb. 28, Pearl River edged Gulf Coast 6-5 in 11 innings at Poplarville.

  • Gulf Coast is second in the MACCC in walks (224) and third in doubles (72) and getting hit by pitches (81).
  • Brandon Cain (So., Mobile, Ala./Baker) is third in the MACCC in triples (4).
  • Marc Stephens (So., Orange Beach, Ala./Gulf Shores) leads the conference in batting (.469) and on-base percentage (.576). He’s third in hits (61).
  • Dom Jackson (Fr., Gulf Breeze, Fla./Gulf Breeze) is second in the MACCC in slugging (.726) and home runs (10). He’s fourth in walks (29), seventh in doubles (12) and ninth in RBI (42).
  • Kaden Irving (Fr., Gautier/Gautier) is 10th in the MACCC with 11 doubles.
  • Charlie Keller (So., Mobile, Ala./Mobile Christian) is second in the league with a .551 on-base percentage, and he’s fifth in hit-by-pitches (13).
