POPLARVILLE, Miss. — Two incredible weeks on the diamond for Pearl River’s Bryn Daughtery (Vancleave) and Marshall Phillips (Sumrall; Hattiesburg) have earned the duo a Wildcat of the Week selection.

BRYN DAUGHTERY
Daughtery got it done both at the plate and in the circle for the Wildcats last week in doubleheaders against No. 2 Copiah-Lincoln and East Mississippi. On the offensive side of things, Daughtery went 6-for-14 for a .429 batting average. She added two RBIs and a double. She was called upon to make just her third start of the season against East Mississippi and delivered, throwing a complete-game shutout, allowing just three hits while striking out two.

Daughtery holds a .438 batting average, a .500 on-base percentage and a .686 slugging percentage through 39 games. She has tallied 28 RBIs, 13 runs, nine doubles, five homers and one triple. She’s drawn seven walks. The sophomore has now made three pitching appearances, giving up just three runs through 20 innings pitched.

MARSHALL PHILLIPS
Phillips was instrumental in another undefeated week for Pearl River against Copiah-Lincoln and East Mississippi. He had a .357 batting average, a .400 on-base percentage, and a .857 slugging percentage. He hit two homers and one double, scored six runs, and drove in 10 runs. He also swiped two bases. In both parts of a doubleheader against East Mississippi, Phillips hit go-ahead homers.

The sophomore has featured in all 43 games for the Wildcats in 2024 and currently has a .308 batting average with 12 doubles, seven homers and two triples. He has drawn 24 walks and stolen 10 bases. His 42 RBIs rank fourth on the team.
