Greyhounds, Lady Yellow Jackets Dominate the Night

The Ocean Springs Greyhounds (8-2) asserted control in a 62-36 win against the St. Martin Yellow Jackets on Friday night in Ocean Springs, and the Lady Yellow Jackets (9-3) displayed dominance with a 51-13 victory against the Lady Greyhounds.

In the boys game, the Greyhounds initiated a 7-0 run in the first quarter, extending it with an 11-0 run in the second, leading to a 27-7 halftime advantage.

Ocean Springs continued its momentum with a 14-2 run in the third quarter, entering the final quarter with a 48-21 lead.
Junior guard Maddox Noblitt stole the spotlight with an outstanding performance, notching 22 points, including four 3-pointers and three dunks.
St. Martin senior forward Ty’Lah Whitlock led the Yellow Jackets with nine points.

The Greyhounds prepare for their next region challenge against D’Iberville on Tuesday. St. Martin (1-9) aims to regroup for a road game against the Gulfport Admirals on Tuesday.
In the girls game, St. Martin showcased its prowess.
The Lady Yellow Jackets surged to a 15-1 lead by the end of the first quarter.
Ocean Springs struggled to find its footing, managing its first field goal halfway through the second quarter.
St. Martin’s defense held Ocean Springs scoreless in the third quarter, and the Lady Yellow Jackets extended their lead with a 16-0 run.

St. Martin senior forward La’damian Lafayette led all scorers with 12 points.

The Lady Yellow Jackets’ victory sets the stage for their next region game, which is on the road against the Gulfport Lady Admirals on Tuesday.

Ocean Springs (2-8) looks to rebound against region rival D’Iberville on Tuesday.
