PEARL — Back-to-back Class 1A state champion Resurrection is well-represented on the First Team All-State team in the classification that has dominated for the past two seasons.

And for the Eagles, it’s been a family affair.

First-year RCS head coach Aron Frederic was named the Class 1A “Coach of the Year”, after his Eagles swept past West Union in fine fashion to take the second state title on the diamond in school history here at Trustmark Park last week. Frederic took over the RCS helm from Lee Tingle, who passed away suddenly soon after becoming the Eagles’ head coach.

Lee Ting;es nephew, RCS standout senior Cole Tingle, was selected as the “Co-Player of the Year” in Class 1A as well. Tingle was the inning pitcher in the second and final contest in the state championship series.

Cole Tingle is also Lee Tingle’s nephew. Cole Tingle was also one of a team-high four players from Resurrection named Class 1A First Team All-State. He was joined by Eagle teammates Levi Foshee, Max Askew and Walker Frederic.

West Union’s Greer Mannino was the other Class 1A “Co-Player of the Year” after he and his teammates fell to RCS in the state championship series.

The younger Frederic is the son of current RCS head coach Aron Frederic.

Here are the 2023 Mississippi High School Baseball Coaches Class 1A All-State Teams. These all-state teams are voted on by coaches around the state who are members of the Mississippi Association of Coaches.
