Biloxi joined Harrison Central atop the Region 8-6A standings Wednesday night after all four teams in the loop completed their first league game.
The home-standing Indians overcame an early deficit and rallied to knock off arch-rival Gulfport 7-3 at the Biloxi High School Sports Complex. The game was moved back a day due to inclement weather.
The visiting Admirals took a 3-0 lead after two frames of play, scoring a single run in the first and adding two more runs in the seventh.
The Indians began to make their move in the bottom of the third inning scoring a pair of runs to cut the deficit to 3-2, and then roared back with three more markers in the next frame to overtake Gulfport and lead 5-3 entering the fifth stanza.
Biloxi then added a single insurance run in each of the fifth and sixth innings to seal the win in the first of three meetings between the two teams in a four-day span.

Indian lead-off hitter and starting pitcher Logan Fontenelle came up big for Biloxi on both the mound as well as at the plate. Fontenelle collected a pair of hits, including a double, and drove in a game-high three runs on offense. And, after a sluggish start on the hill, he settled down and kept the Admirals at bay finishing the game with five scoreless frames while both he and his Indian teammates came alive at the plate.
Biloxi first baseman Brodie Pearson was also a key cog in the winning Biloxi nine-hit attack, coming up with a pair of hits as well including a double and driving in a pair of runs. Aiden Harrison also had two hits for the Indians, while Bryson Pisarich and Ja’Darius Hartley also drove a run in each.
Fontenelle picked up the win, while Josh Lee took the loss. For Gulfport, Ole Miss signee Ethan Suroweic had two hits including a run-scoring triple and Davis Ormes drove in the other Admiral run.

The same two teams will meet in Gulfport on Friday night and return to Biloxi for game three Saturday afternoon.
Biloxi joined Harrison central atop the Region 8-6A standings at 1-0 with the win after the Red Rebels managed to get their game against Hancock in on Tuesday night.
The Red Rebels used a late-inning rally to slip past home-standing Hancock 3-2 Tuesday night in one of the few prep baseball games played after rain washed out much of the schedule earlier in the day. The contest in the Kiln was the region opener for both HCHS and the Hawks, and was the only Class 6A game played in the “Southern Six”.
