No. 12 Mississippi Gulf Coast handled business quickly on Tuesday, blanking Northeast Mississippi 9-0 in MACCC women’s tennis action in Booneville.

The Bulldogs dropped only six games on nine courts.

“They played great, lights out,” Gulf Coast coach Sam Blackburn said. “They didn’t waste any time. They went straight forward, got their wins and got off the court. I’m proud of their effort for that.”

The Bulldogs (3-0, 3-0 MACCC) used only one international in doubles and one in singles, getting more players experience.

Mikenzy Dubrow (Fr., Biloxi/Biloxi) picked up two points, winning at No. 2 doubles with Lauren Sullivan (Fr., Laurel/Laurel Christian) and at No. 6 singles. Dallas Tanner (Fr., Hattiesburg/Oak Grove) and Clare Conliff (Fr., Hattiesburg/Sacred Heart) netted points, too.

The Bulldogs scrimmage against Blue Mountain College on Wednesday in New Albany. They’ll be home for another conference matchup Friday when Copiah-Lincoln visits. First serves are set for 2 p.m.
